SPOTLIGHT

Each month we choose one Rebel Yoga community member to spotlight. This gives you an opportunity to hear a personal perspective of the benefits of yoga from someone who could be on the mat next to you during your first class.

Give a high five to our Rebel of the Month, LIZ!! When asked to describe her experience, Liz said, "I started my journey with Rebel Yoga two years ago this month, and I feel like my life is exponentially different because of it. It really challenges me both physically and mentally. I have a sedentary job where I work up to 12 hours just sitting down, so this is where I come to play! Brent and Amanda have truly created a safe, welcoming place that invites any and all. The community we have here is one of a kind!" Liz is also one of a kind, and we are so blessed to have her as a part of the Rebel Yoga community!

Give a big Rebel Yoga high five to Geneo and Debra, our Rebel *Duo* of the Month! They say yoga “has been an answer for us. It is something we both can do together as a couple and with our own ability. We are together but also working on ourselves.” When asked what yoga has brought to their lives as individuals, Geneo says it has “emphasized stretching. Stretching for the next opportunity to extend, expand, enlarge, and broaden physical and mental awareness.” Debra thinks back to being “stationary both physically and mentally after retirement. With the practice of yoga, I have found myself to be more active and engaged.” They say they chose to make Rebel Yoga their home studio because it is “dedicated to yoga, the space is clean, and it is very inviting. There is an environment of acceptance!” They have even shared the Rebel Yoga love by bringing their grandchildren to class, and took a sunset yoga class on Old Railroad Bridge in Alabama while on vacation. We love their spirit and are so thankful to have Geneo and Debra as part of the Rebel Yoga community!
